My sweetheart and I visited Switzerland over my birthday - a bucket list item for me was to try snowboarding in the alps. It was heart-stoppingly beautiful. The map below is the journey we made by train, landing in Zurich and flying out of Geneva.
This first post shows photos from the first leg of our journey. We stayed in Zurich overnight and then got on the train - it was one of the recommended routes to take for its beauty! Golden-something. We ended up with the train car to ourselves :) Where the red line goes down about halfway through, that's where we took a few other trains and trams to get to Mürren. We stayed there for a few days to and then continued on to Geneva to see the United Nations and CERN.
Here at Interlaken Ost (the last stop on the right of the map above) we got off the big cross-country train and took a train to Grindelwald (I really wanted to see it because it felt os Harry Potter-esque haha).
There were lots of people with their snow gear for a day trip!
Grindelwald
From Grindelwald we took a tram for our final leg up the mountain to the village of Mürren!
