Thanks to the amazing email overview our friends sent us of their trip, I knew we should do a day trip to Ayutthaya.
Things are incredibly inexpensive in Thailand - we could have hired a cab driver to take us there, drive us to the sites, for a very decent price (and this is an hour or two long journey depending on traffic), but then I thought we could try seeing Thailand by train.
The train tickets were less than £1 each!And although it was very long, hot, and without air conditioning, I am SO GLAD we did! (We ended up ubering on the way back)!
