I wanted to show you a painting that Boricua showed me, it’s in the library at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez campus - it’s a Spaniard who is being drowned by Taínos.
You see, according to the story, they were waiting for a white god to return. They knew that after he died, he was supposed to come back to life after the 3rd day. So they drowned him and waited for the 3rd day. Needless to say, it wasn’t God. Sound familiar??
